Veteran's Day - A Day to Celebrate

In light of Veterans Day, I wanted to emphasize the importance of our troops and all they do for us. At Chillybean Coffee Company and Rushing Trading Co. we like to give thanks to our Veterans and our Troops. Thank you to the brave men and women who have fought for our great Nation and put us before themselves. I cannot stress enough how grateful we are to have such fine men and women to protect our every day freedoms and give us the ability to open our businesses, and continue to live our every day lives.

This week there are plenty of reasons to go up to a man or woman and uniform, shake their hand and give them a big thank you, but these are perhaps some enlightening reasons you didn’t think of.

1.    They all put their lives on the line for you.

There is a lot that goes into protecting our country and every man and women who has fought for us and died for us have put you before themselves. They fought for your freedoms and your lives so that you may not have to fight yourself. They believe that this country is worth fighting for and you are worth fighting for. Their sacrifice is the most precious gift that we as Americans receive.

2.    They miss time with their families and friends to protect you.

Of course it wasn’t your decision that a soldier could not see his family or friends for extended amount of time, however they go long months even years without seeing their families to protect our freedoms. If no one made those sacrifices, who would be fighting for you? Just remember the things that those brave men and women give up in order to give you the rights you want and deserve.

3.    Our troops demonstrate some of the best work ethics in the nation.

These brave men and women really are the best role models for especially the younger generation of our nation. Their hard work and dedication is what the United States runs on.

4.    They have gone through many challenges.

As the daughter of a veteran, I cannot begin to imagine what my dad has been through serving in the United States Army. My father has been through a lot in his time served and they have not all been pleasant experiences. Those who fight or have fought for our country should get a huge thank you, even just for all of the things they have been through in their lives. It is not easy going to war or protecting our country, so they deserve the biggest thank you that you are able to give.

5.    America is the home of the Brave, these brave men and women are the foundation of bravery.

Everything that America is built from greatly shows in the brave men and women who protect it. In many ways they are some of the last traditional forms of bravery this country has and it should be appreciated. These people voluntarily fight for us and our home making this bravery the highest honor anyone could possibly accomplish.

Thank someone who is or was in the Armed Forces this weekend. It means a greater deal to them than you think that you are able to acknowledge their accomplishments and hard work.

I want to thank my dad for not only being the best dad but also fighting for my country, my family and I making him by far the bravest man I know. He has been through many things in his life but fighting for the country is something he is most proud of and should be. Thank you dad, I am very proud of you and thank you for all you do and have done.

Chillybean Coffee Company and Rushing Trading Co. this Monday will be at the grand opening to the Veterans Memorial in Sugar Hill. Show us your military ID and receive and free coffee. It is the least we can do to show our appreciation for our country’s military.
